A heartbreaking, yet weirdly beautiful epic. ... But that's war. ..... I know. To all of my brothers and sisters out there who did what we all knew in our bones that we needed to do; Thank You for Your Service. I'd go back to war with each and every damned one of you.

Movie studio executive: "Don't put Amy Schumer in the trailer because we don't want 100,000 dislikes and zero tickets sold."

I guess people don't know what those guys had to go through there in this movie, and also in the comment section. The tragedy is that people here still don't get it, to give so much, risk your life, and lose those that you call brothers in arms. People need to grow up and see that these guys need our help, they need us to acknowledge that they went through hell, it's the least we can do for them. The life of service is not a bad choice, but it is wrong when society turns their back on those who sacrificed so much when they need help. Why do you think PTSD exist? Why do you think suicide amongst our veterans is still a concern? Why do you think they feel disconnected from home despite returning to a safe place to the people they love? People here who complain about this movie and its message don't know hardship, they don't know what it means to serve, they don't know what it means to sacrifice.

the main focus is to show what our veterans deal with when they come home and how those around them treat them as well.

This is based on a Studs Terkel book by the same title, following people who were in the armed forces after returning home from Iraq. The people had a lot of personal problems and some of them had permanent injuries and limited support. It was so depressing that I never finished the book.

Studs Terkel was a Pulitzer Prize winning broadcaster, probably most famous about a prior book about interviewing people about what it was like to be alive during the second world war, called "The Good War."

Maybe some ppl will learn not to join the military. No diss to the troops, but send the warmongers and leave the rest of us alone.

Thank you for slaughtering innocent people in Iraq, Vietnam, Japan. What a shame!

Thank you for the blood baths you created all over the world. Thank you for creating allies with the worst dictatorships around the globe.

The music made this a lot more cheesier than it had to be. I don't know why I still bother with trailers.

This is NOT propaganda, by any means. It kind of makes you want to never join the military.

America doesn't really gives a fuck about vets. Saying "Thank you for your service" in the most ernest possible tone is for a lot of people a way of being able to feel like a patriot so they can feel better about themselves. It's pathetic. "Support our troops" on TV is just propaganda. I don't know if you remember but that horseshit started after 9/11 and it was a simple way to equate somebody's disagreement with the war to some kind of grudge against the troops, which was rarely the case. It was exploiting people's obvious support for soldiers for some other motive. This movie and others like it are the same. We saved lives, we kicked ass! No, you were suckered into destabilizing another country, taking all kinds of risks with your health and survival (not just combat but activities and proximity to materials that would never be allowed in civilian industry), being part of a machine that killed hundreds of thousands unnecessarily and made enemies out of people that didn't care about us, and then when you get home, guess what, the VA is a joke and the real world which you are not really a part of anymore gives you bullshit platitudes and not much else. Your friends who didn't go had a good time in college and aren't fucked up in their minds and body, and even though they look up to you, they don't really need to be tough like you to have a happy life. You weren't grown up enough to really assess your reasons for wanting to join up and if you were you would realize it's all a crock of shit. 20 year olds being used like fucking farm animals. If the tone of this trailer matches the movie then it's going to suck a giant truckload of cocks and will not tell the actual story. Why don't they make movies like The Deer Hunter, or Full Metal Jacket anymore? People can't take it because people have been sucking down propaganda goo for the last 16 years.

thanks for you service! fighting for the land of the free, even though we have more people incarcerated than any other country in the world. Thank you for defending that freedom! even though the last legitimate defensive war was a couple centuries ago. Thanks for putting an end to terrorists! even though the bigger picture is securing more oil and lining the pockets of those who profit ridiculous amounts from the expenses and spoils of war. Thanks for being another cog in the machine that has spent more money on military strength than on education and infrastructure. lol the US has become such a fucking joke.
