I love it when comedians play dramatic roles. I'm up for this one. Looks better than her habitual comedies.

Comedic actors are often much better actors overall. Comedy is harder than it looks and involves a lot of nuance and timing.

This is a huge dump on people who doubted Melissa. She has always been full of intense acting! Everyone just stereotyped her to one single role. They'll be rotting in their basements while Melissa wins an Oscar!

Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy, what a difference! I think she is a talented and wonderdul actress in trashy comedies directed by her husband, she deserves better. Good for her.

Why the hell are people surprised Melissa McCarthy can act? Did no one see St. Vincent? Not to mentioned she was nominated for Bridesmaids (which was well deserved because she was the best things about that movie).

Yes! This is what McCarthy needs to do more of, not allowing herself to be horribly typecast by studios. Looks very interesting.

People tends to undermine a comedian's range of talent. They usually are the deepest of people.

Melissa McCarthy gets serious. I thought that was never going to happen. She is a good comedian, so I will see this.

Mellissa McCarthy and Richard Grant do a fabulous job at this very intriguing story ...

It seems as though more and more movies are overly adorned with complication. This movie however relies not on grandiose special effects or mind boggling interwoven plots, but an easy to follow storyline, great acting, brilliant period-correct sets, and simple, nostalgic production.

The characters are believable, and fascinating, and the story flows easily from one plot to the next. I can only imagine a book version being a page turner.

Some people feel as though acting is simple. One just reads a script and follows direction. This can be further from the truth. Great acting is a skill whereby the actor transforms into the character making the audience believe as though they're real. Mellissa McCarthy especially, and Richard Grant are superb at doing just that.

I have not seen all movies this year so I can't say for sure who is the best leading actor. However, for certain Melissa McCarthy should at least be nominated for an Oscar.

This movie draws you into the time, place and characters lives. You experience what they experience. Even the supporting cast such as the book sellers and such are believable in their roles.

At times you will gasp, chuckle, feel empathy, and perhaps tug on a heart string or two.

A great little movie that seems tucked away on a book shelf amongst all the high tech films. But like a good 'ol book, you'd be remiss letting this little gem pass you by.
