I love her voice. But she followed her own passion and not her mother’s shadow. Ms Ross should be proud of Miss Ross.

Is she actually singing in this movie, because I never knew that she could sing and yes I did know that Diana Ross is her mom.

You KNEW no one wants to see another cookie-cutter, rom-comish, “coming-of-age” story, so you put the incomparable Tracee Ellis Ross in it, to trick us and make us go see it.
ii see what you did. 👏🏽

So Tracee's playing her mom. I'll bet Diana experienced this very age discrimination & Tracee's exposing it. Kudos to them! And I think Tina Turner would be the one black woman who had a number after 40 for that era.

“grace davis hasn’t released a new record in a decade and the fans want one”

is this movie a rihanna parody?

Women in the 40's who've had a US number one: Tina Turner, Madonna, Cher, Sia, Mariah, and Grace Slick from Starship! Let me know if I should add anyone else!

Actually Tina Turner and Dionne Warwick had number one hits after 40. Tina Turner with What's Love Got to Do With It at 44. And Dionne Warwick and Friends with that's what friends are for at 47
