Doctor Who Summary

The Doctor looks and seems human. He's handsome, witty, and could be mistaken for just another man in the street. But he is a Time Lord: a 900 year old alien with 2 hearts, part of a gifted civilization who mastered time travel. The Doctor saves planets for a living – more of a hobby actually, and he's very, very good at it. He's saved us from alien menaces and evil from before time began – but just who is he?

A great title sequence and theme, but a shame when it's not synced up properly with the title sequence in some episodes.

Wow, a clean version of the Twelfth Doctor titles. And no BBC logo in the top left corner of the video, only under the Doctor Who logo.

Happy birthday, Peter Capaldi.

I don't know about anyone else's opinion, but I actually love this theme. Capaldi's Doctor fits this theme, to me at least.

If you hate this title sequence, then you must loathe the Fifth/Seventh titles.

It's about time we finally got an HD version of this on YouTube. My favourite official Doctor Who title sequence to date. The clock motif is very welcome. My only major gripe is that the Tardis looks like it's made of rubber. I know CGI has it's limits but this hasn't been an issue for previous titles of the modern era. Also NeonVisual's rendition of this blows all others out of the water.

I'm really not a fan of this one. Whilst I like that a fan-made title inspired the show proper, I don't think the style really fits the tone of the series. For most of Doctor Who's history, time travel, the vortex and everything surrounding the concept has been more ethereal than mechanical. Having the TARDIS skidding across a clockface and dodging cogs before slipping through a boring blue starscape just seems to be taking the idea of a time travel show too literally. It feels more like a parody of a Doctor Who title sequence than something that fits the show. I'm delighted that Billy Henshaw got the chance to turn his concept video into reality, but I doubt he originally developed the sequence thinking it would fit with the tone.

Is it just me, or is the theremin or whatever synth instrument is used for the melody just too whiny it makes me cringe? It's the only thing I don't like that it almost ALMOST ruins the intro for me. Don't get me wrong, visuals are stunning and it's awesome they brought back the Doctor's face like they did in the original series. Just that instrument...ugh I'd rather play almost any other opening's music to this intro's visuals.
